Skins add big body

The Redskins signed nose tackle Maake Kemoeatu today. This is a big one -- Kemoeatu, anyway. 6-5, 345 pounds according to the NFL record and fact book of last season when he was on the Carolina Panthers roster. He missed the season with an Achilles tendon tear suffered during training camp. As the club is calling him a nose tackle in its announcement of the signing, you would think the arrow points for sure to a 3-4 scheme. Picture the 345-pound Kemoeatu on the nose with Albert Haynesworth (a mere 6-6, 350) parked beside him. Calls to mind that old Baltimore Ravens front that featured Sam Adams and Tony Siragusa (and Kemoeatu, who signed with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent). He's a two-gap NT, a guy who eats blockers. Don't expect him to chase QBs. He has four career sacks.
