Coach watch

NFL.com says Jim Haslett interviewed at Redskins Park for defensive coordinator job on Monday. I can confirm he was here Monday and Tuesday and also has some interest from the New York Giants. I bellieve he will visit them today or Wednesday. ... Haslett coached in the new UFL last fall in Orlando but still maintains a home in St. Louis. His plans are hardly firm at this point. ... Another possible candidate was Mike Zimmer of the Cincinnati Bengals but he has re-upped with Cincy, the Bengals say. A three-year deal to stay put. ... Redskins also say goodbye to RB coach Stump Mitchell. Left on good terms to take head coaching position at Southern University. A good man and an intense coach. Came from Seattle, where he had worked with Jim Zorn previously. We wish him well.
