Can't buy a thrill

Redskins LB London Fletcher says he welcomes the club's measured approach to free agency this year. "The Redskins have had to create excitement and anticipation in free agency but it's a new regime and they're approach was a lot different. It's been proven you can't buy a football team. It doesn't work," Fletcher said. The Redskins did not always buy the most players but they often went for the splashy signing, as they did last year in grabbing DT Albert Haynesworth with a $100M contract jus hours after free agency began. And they've actually been the most active club in the NFC East. But the emphasis on building with outsiders (and let's not forget Fletcher came over as a free agent from Buffalo in 2007) is part of the past. "I can't remember when a team went out and bought a Super Bowl," Fletcher said.
